Responsibilities

The Utility Billing Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day operations, review and analysis of utility bills and consumption
  • Organization of meters, reconciliation analysis, billing for all Richdale Communities
  • Reconcile monthly tenant invoicing to verify that all charges are accurate
  • Work with utility companies to ensure pricing and usage are accurate and fair
  • Build relationships with intercompany personal to maintain customer service for any questions about utilities the customers might have
  • Assist with new developments to get utilities up and running
  • Provide detailed analysis of utility usage on all properties
  • Book journal entries to correctly record utility expenses
  • Analyze and provide funding for the payment of all utilities
  • Report to management details about usage and billings on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Develop and implement programs along with offer recommendations
  • Prepare routine reports
  • Develop expertise in gas operations, regulatory requirements and accounting principles

*This position is primarily in-office.

It will follow a Monday-Friday schedule under a 9/80 work plan, with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

  • Experience with utility billing systems, preferably YARDI, and processes.
  • Familiarity with multi-family and/or commercial property billing practices.
  • Contract knowledge and understanding.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills is a must.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Highly responsive to emails and requests for information.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools including Microsoft Office products, with strong focus on Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
